European voluntary service
Who can apply?
- The European voluntary service is addressed to young persons aged between 18 and 30 years. (16 years in special cases)
- Everybody can apply, a degree is not necessary. However you must be well motivated (strong motivation represents an opportunity to be chosen among the candidates).
What is it?
The European voluntary service in an opportunity to share your experience with people who are living in another country and to discover a different way of life. You can discover a new culture, while remaining within a large community: The European Union and third countries. The evs provides an opportunity for young people to figure out what they like to do.
This experience is based on volunteering abroad, which implies missions supervised, planned and agreed by the volunteer. (You have to sign a contract)
Many areas are concerned: culture, art, communication and media, youth, education, sport, social assistance, health, environment, European politics …
The volunteer will benefit from a language class all along the evs.
Costs
Transport services (flight, bus, subway …), accommodation, health insurance and food costs are supported by the program. The volunteer also enjoy “pocket money” every month (the sum is established by the European commission). Because everything is organized, you leave with your mind at ease: lets you embark in the knowledge that you are fully protected. You are exempt for any burden.

Go to http://ec.europa.eu/youth/evs/aod/heien.cfm to find he project that suits you. Then, you can download an application form and send it to isabelle.perasso-biard@ville-nevers.fr. The volunteer will also have to send a resume and a cover letter.
